Prepare to make a new animated friend in the shape of the splendid MISSING LINK.
Chris Butler, director of the fab 2012 animation ParaNorman, looks as though he’s created another splendid adventure with his new film MISSING LINK. From the very funny teaser trailer that’s recently been released online, you can see that Mr Link, the 8 feet tall, 630 lb creature is no scary beast but an adorably clumsy hero. Of course, he is when you realise he’s voiced by the tremendously engaging Zach Galifianakis.
Although Mr Link has lived for years in the quiet seclusion of the Pacific Northwest, he has now decided it’s time to see the world and so he enlists the help of noted explorer Sir Lionel Frost as his guide – what a cracker of a role for the terrific Hugh Jackman. Also along for the fun is Zoe Saldana, another great vocal fit for the wonderfully named adventurer Adelina Fortnight. They’re all going to travel to the mythical land of Shangri-La where Mr Link hopes he’ll meet his long-lost relatives. And from the first-look trailer, there are laughs-a-plenty to be had along the way.
With the marvellous Emma Thompson and Timothy Olyphant included in the supporting cast, along with the comedic talents of Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas and David Walliams, I think we’re in for a good time when the movie is released in spring 2019.
Until then, as Sir Lionel would say “give it all you’ve got!” and enjoy this…
