Steve Rogers vs Tony Stark spells trouble on the horizon in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and I can’t wait!
After one heck of a terrific sequel last year with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we now have this tantalising battle to look forward to in the next sequel – it’s Steve Rogers vs Tony Stark in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. Due in spring 2016 and announced as part of the next slew of Marvel movies we can look forward to, it’s certainly got my attention.
Of course if you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know I’ve got a soft spot for this particular avenger and Chris Evans‘ superb portrayal of Steve Rogers and so the thought of him continuing to butt heads with Robert Downey Jr.’s brilliant Tony Stark (something that was started memorably in The Avengers) is a smart move from the Marvel honchos in my book.
So the directors of The Winter Soldier, Anthony, and Joe Russo are back along with Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner and Sebastian Stan, whilst new additions of the brilliant Daniel Bruhl and Chadwick Boseman are sure to make an impression.
Once we’ve seen Avengers: Age of Ultron this spring, we’ll realise how the events of that instalment will cause these allies onto opposing sides – not a great situation for anyone, I think.
The clock is ticking.
